GN ReSound was founded in Denmark in 1943 by Gerd Rosenstand when the company were then known as Danavox. They are one of the world’s largest providers of hearing instruments and have a long history of developing ground breaking new digital hearing aid technology, such as WDRC (Wide Dynamic Range Compression) and open-ear hearing aids, which are now the most popular hearing aid style worldwide. They continue to be the industry leaders by more recently introducing the unique Remote Microphone style of hearing aid called ‘Lex’ and the world’s first ‘Made for iPhone’ hearing aid called ‘LiNX’. This latter was made possible by incorporating 2.4 GHz wireless technology (once more an industry first) enabling their hearing aids to connect to wireless accessories (which now include the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch) without the need of any intermediary devices. They have also developed the industry’s leading feedback cancellation technology called DFS Ultra II.
